Research Records Prof. MT Moreira leads the application of bioreactors for the degradation of recalcitrant compounds (PAH, dyes, PPCPs, etc.) and the application of LCA methodology at the Group of Environmental Engineering and Bioprocesses (Biogroup – www.usc.es/biogrup) in different sectors: environmental performance of products and processes such as wastewater treatment technologies, primary sectors related to agriculture, forestry and fishing as well as bioenergy, manufacture sector and logistics. Recently, in a review publication about the relevance of research groups in terms of number of LCA publications in scientific journals, this USC-LCA group ranks first in Spain and sixth in the world. MT Moreira has supervised 13 doctoral thesis and is supported by a well developed collaborative network, which is evidenced by a number of EU projects and her joint publications with several national and international collaborators. She has conducted several research stays at the Wageningen Agricultural University in The Netherlands (1995, 1997, 1998), at the School of Biochemical Engineering of the Catholic University of Valparaiso in Chile (1996), at the EULA Center of the University of Concepcion in Chile (1999) and at the Dept. of Chemical and Environmental Engineering, University of Arizona, USA (2002, 2012, 2014). MT Moreira has participated in 14 European research projects (8 of them as a leader), 2 integrated actions with Germany and Israel, 14 R&D projects of the Spanish Council (3 of them as a leader), 10 R&D financed by the regional government of Galicia (one of them as a leader), a collaboration on a project funded by the Government of Chile and 29 research contracts with different companies. She has published more than 240 publications, of which 206 correspond to SCI journals (of these, 149 are Q1 and 18 TOP3), H-index: 40, 2 Books, 20 Book chapters and 262 presentations at congresses and workshops. She is Associated Editor of Journal of Cleaner Production. |
