Bio

Claudio Curcio received the "Laurea" degree (summa cum laude) in electronic engineering and the Ph.D. degree in electronic and telecommunication engineering both from the Università di Napoli Federico II, Naples, Italy, in 2002 and 2005, respectively. In 2006-2007 he held a post-doctoral position at the University of Naples Federico II. He is currently Associate Professor at Università di Napoli Federico II. His main fields of interest are antenna measurements, standard and phaseless effective near-field/far-field transformation techniques, optical beamforming techniques for array antennas, array and reflectarray synthesis.

In February 2002 he was the recipient of the Optimus Award at the SIMAGINE 2002 “Worldwide GSM & Java Card Developer Contest”. In the 2009 and 2010 he received the Best Technical Paper Award at the Antenna Measurement Techniques Association Symposium. In the 2011 he was recipient of the Honorable Mention for the Best Antenna Measurement Paper at the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation, while in the 2013 and the 2018 he was finalist for the Antenna Measurements Best Paper Award at the European Conference on Antennas and Propagation. In the 2016 he received the IEEE Best Italian EMC Poster Prize from the IEEE EMC Society, Italy Chapter.

Since May 2020 he is member of the IEEE Working Group for the revision of the Standard IEEESTD1720 "Recommended Practice for Near-Field Antenna Measurements".

Since 2012 he is member of the Applied Computational Electromagnetic Society, a since 2018 he is member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (IEEE). Since January 2022 he is Associate Editor for IEEE Access.
