Bio

Federico Cilia has over ten years of experience in the semiconductor industry, having first been employed at ST Microelectronics as an apprentice and later, following his graduation in 2006 with a Diploma in industrial electronics from Malta College for Arts, Science, and Technology (MCAST), he was employed as a technician. Mr Cilia continued to further his education at the University of Malta, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) in Electrical and Electronic Engineering in 2019 and a Master of Science in Engineering in 2021. Currently, he is reading for a Doctor of Philosophy in Physics at the University of Malta. He is also employed with the University of Malta as a Research Support Officer on the MiTreat project part-financed by the European Union under the European Regional Development Fund – European Structural and Investment Funds 2014-2020. His current research interests are microwave effects on biological tissue, numerical thermal-electromagnetic modelling, and antenna design for microwave ablation.
