QIF: What Is It and Why It Matters, Session 1

ABSTRACT. The objective of the QIF tutorial is threefold.  First, one must understand the basics of the ANSI/DMSC Quality Information Framework (QIF) interoperability standard with QIF 101: Understanding QIF Basics.  QIF 101 will discuss what it is, why it matters and how it provides benefit to the model-based enterprise (MBE).  Next, we will present a description of the QIF with QIF 201: Reviewing QIF Technology.  QIF 201 will review the technology of the standard, the structure of the QIF, and top-level data elements of the QIF schema.  Finally, we will get more technical as we share one way to write code implementing the QIF with QIF 301: Coding QIF Applications.  QIF 301 will follow a code writing approach using a common coding language.  Attendees will gain a better understanding of what the QIF is, how it can be used and implemented, and why it is needed for the connected digital cyber/physical enterprise.

Accelerate Digital Transformation with the OAGIS Standard and the Open-Source Score Tool, Session 1

ABSTRACT. In this tutorial, a short introduction to the Open Applications Group Integration Specification (OAGIS) as an enterprise canonical will be given. Then, the use of the Score tool to manage the usage of OAGIS based on past industry use cases will be demonstrated and its values discussed. There will be an opportunity to have a hands-on experience with the tool.

Realizing Industrial Augmented Reality via an Open-Source Software Toolkit, Session 1

ABSTRACT. The objective of this tutorial is to introduce TrackingExpert+, an open-source software toolkit to realize industrial augmented reality applications in areas such as assembly, inspection, and others. It provides features for object detection, tracking, and 3D rendering on multiple devices. The attendees will see the capabilities first hand and learn how they can leverage the toolkit for their personal or professional use.

Annotating Maintenance Data with Nestor, an Open-Source Toolkit, Session 1

ABSTRACT. The objective of this tutorial is to introduce Nestor, an open-source toolkit for annotating maintenance work order data for analysis. The attendees will walk through annotating a publicly available dataset through a process called “tagging” using Nestor. Participants will then be shown various analysis techniques to improve their maintenance operations using this data.
