DSc(Eng) Pavel Krivenko, currently a professor at the Department of Technology of Building Structures and Products and Director of the Scientific Research Institute for Binders and Materials of Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture, Kyiv, Ukraine. Graduated from the Dnepropetrovsk Civil Engineering Institute – diploma of Engineer in Building Materials Technology, Dnepropetrovsk,Ukraine (1961). Received PhD (Eng) from the Kyiv CivilEngineering Institute (1971), DSc (Eng) from the Kyiv PolytechnicalInstitute, Kyiv, Ukraine (1986). Research interests include synthesis ofalkali-activated cements and materials based on them. Published over 20 books and more than 1000 papers in international journals and conference proceedings. Principal investigator in a number of national and international projects in Ukraine and abroad. Member of three RILEM Technical Committees on alkali-activated materials, board member of three international journals, winner of the State Prize of Ukraine in the field of Science and Engineering (2001), supervisor of 5 DSc(Eng) and 23 PhD theses.
