Hey folks!

My name is Yuankun Fu. I have graduated with my Ph.D. studying High Performance Computing at Purdue University in May 2021 and am delighted to have started my new role at VMware on July.

My research interests cover HPC, Cloud, ML, and CFD. My personal website is https://qoofyk.github.io/. My Ph.D. dissertation focused on accelerating the in-situ workflow to integrate CFD simulations with data analysis at an extreme scale. I have developed the world's fastest in-situ workflow framework, Zipper, to speedup the data transfer on HPC, and the world's fastest LBM algorithm -- parallel memory-aware LBM, to significantly transform the notorious memory-bound algorithm into a computational-bound algorithm in the Roofline model. In addition, when I interned at Los Almos National Laboratory and collaborated with the Stanford Linear Accelerator Team, we designed the first parameterized benchmark and used a novel efficiency metric, METG, to evaluate the performance and overhead of state-of-the-art parallel and distributed programming systems.
