Dr. Veronica Mocanu is a Professor of Pathophysiology and Eating Behavior at the “Grigore T. Popa” University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iași, Romania. She is an endocrinologist specializing in the treatment of obesity and eating disorders. Her research focuses on stress physiology and eating behavior, with a particular interest in the use of immersive virtual reality and digital technologies for studying human responses in controlled environments. She coordinates the Center for Experimental Biobehavioral Research in Obesity (OBBEX), dedicated to developing innovative approaches that integrate wearable devices, mobile applications, and virtual reality in nutrition research. She has also co-organized the “Virtual Eating” training courses for dietitians, promoting the application of digital technologies in personalized nutrition.
