“CAOS Challenge on Landmark and Soft-Tissue Attachment Prediction”

The CAOS Biomechanics Focus Group proposes to set up a challenge to predict landmarks and
soft-tissue attachments by different research groups to stimulate work in this field. The
challenge is to use different (including but not limited to machine learning based) methods to
predict a set of pre-defined landmarks and soft-tissue attachments relevant for pre-operative
CAOS applications on (multiple) datasets. The participation of numerous research groups and
diverse approaches are encouraged.

Objectives:
•    Stimulation of work on the prediction of landmarks and soft-tissue attachments
•    Provision of data sets and ground truth data
•    Benchmarking of different methods/ approaches
•    Development of a common position of the CAOS Biomechanics Focus Group
•    Development and deployment of open-source libraries
•    Publication of a ‘white paper’ reporting issues and solutions

The workshop will focus on the discussion of objectives, set-up, time lines and cooperation
agreement.

Guests are welcome!

14:00-15:40 Session 22B: Post-Conference Workshop B: Oncology

This workshop of the CAOS Oncology Focus group will center on a discussion of the white paper that the focus group members are currently preparing. The white paper is preliminarily titled State of Affair White Paper on CAOS Oncology: margins and assessment, definitions, followup requirements. Workshop discussions will focus on agreeing on definitions and outcome measures.
