Mike’s research is in the areas of advertising, celebrity effects, and social marketing. He has examined food choice - especially how taste, price, convenience, and nutritional concerns affect consumers, and the importance of hedonic factors such as appearance and freshness on consumption of fruits and vegetables. More recently has focused on the role of experiences in enriching people's lives; this research has examined fine dining, travel, and recreational activities.
