Raw Materials in Honduras, a systematic review

EasyChair Preprint no. 1165

7 pagesDate: June 11, 2019

Abstract

Since 1913, the products exported by Honduras have been bananas and beautiful metals.  The bananas were the main product exported by this country, since it occupied 50% of total exports, so we can point out that the survival of this country's economy depended to a large extent on it. The beautiful metals were the second most exported product with 26%. The countries that bought these products exported in these years were Germany, Great Britain and the United States. Historically, the United States has been the main commercial partner of Honduras with a purchase between 50% and 70% of the exports that left Honduras, while Germany and Great Britain only covered 5%, respectively. Despite being a large producer of raw materials, Honduras is not yet a recognized country for transforming its material, so the objective of this research is to provide a global overview through a summary article on the type of raw material produced in the Honduran territory. National and international bibliography was consulted for the preparation of this article, concluding that much of the raw material exported by Honduras, is transformed into foreign countries and return to the country as final products.
