Abstract

In Latin America, agro-producers often have difficulties in accessing markets with competitive prices, hindering their market development and economic growth. In the department of Atlántico-Colombia, this is mainly due to the fact that the vast majority of agro-producers are small producers who lack production techniques and technologies, and also, the fact that commercializing products in large markets implies additional costs such as transportation and logistics, making it unprofitable for most of them. In consideration of this, this research proposes the design of a logistics model based on collaboration and supported by TICs, which would reduce logistics and transportation costs by jointly exploiting economies of scale. The synergies between producers would increase access to large markets, facilitate consolidation processes and add value to the products. A mixed linear integer model is used, consisting of a network of shared consolidation centers where multi-agents, multi-periods of time, multi-products, with the option of direct trips or trips with load consolidation are considered. The model allocates profits individually in a fair way through Shapley Value. The system is supported by a prototype web platform that will allow greater participation and commercial negotiation power, which is used by agro-producers in the Department of Atlántico-Colombia. This study proved that the collaborative strategy is desirable for both small and large producers, with potential economic benefits for the system and an equitable division of rewards. The main influencing factors are production level, distance transported and product quality.
