Juridical Analysis of Abuse of Social Media Users' Personal Data

Abstract

In today's technological developments, social media users have increased significantly.  Information is very easily obtained through social media, including personal data of a person which should be confidential and matters of a privacy nature.  This of course can trigger the misuse of personal data.  Whereas personal data is part of protected human rights.  There are many problems with the misuse of someone's personal data for personal gain.  The purpose and focus of this research is to discuss forms of legal protection of personal data as privacy rights in social media related to the ITE Law and legal protection for owners of personal data in the event of a leak.Indonesia currently does not have specific rules governing the protection of personal data in social .  Therefore, this journal aims to create a concept of adequate regulation in regulating the protection of personal data of social media users.
