Uses of tool's BIM in Brazil's organizations applied from highways' infrastructure.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to characterize the Implementation and usage of building information modelling (BIM) methods applied in road transportation infrastructure in the Brazilian State of Rio Grande do Norte (RN). Seeking to obtain local data about the development and usage of new technologies applied to the teaching, elaboration of projects, construction and operation of roads in this federation unit. The method consists on bibliographic reviews about of the topics covered and a questionnaire structured applied to public and private organizations of the sector in question, based on the strategy of Implementation of the BIM methodology in Brazil. The reviews showed high quantities of publications focused on academic researches and, mainly, the works are directed to buildings, represented by Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operations (AECO) industry. The studies with local data are few, when compared on the world and national scale, although to respect of vertical buildings, however inexistent, or were not found, researches about road infrastructure. This study still continues in application phase of the questionnaire.
