Application of BIM Technologies in Object Planning and Design

Abstract

Building Information Modelling (BIM) means developing of multi-dimensional information model of a building, which is established on a basic 3D model. The paper presents the significance of BIM (Building Information Modelling) technology in civil engineering and its role in the process of planning, and designing of a building. The possibilities of using BIM in each of these processes (planning and design) are listed, as well as the benefits that the application of BIM technologies brings in these processes. The role and importance of the application of BIM technology in communication and information sharing between project participants - investors, designers, project teams were emphasized.
