Application of the Measurement and Verification Methodology for Photovoltaic Systems to a Real Brazilian Case

EasyChair Preprint no. 11275

Abstract

Measurement and Verification (M&V) actions play a crucial role in evaluating the actual benefits achieved by energy efficiency projects. In the case of projects that include the implementation of solar generation systems, a crucial independent factor to consider is solar irradiation, which affects the amount of energy generated by the system. Given how important M&V is in energy efficiency projects, especially in projects that rely on solar irradiation, a study was conducted on projects with photovoltaic systems (PV) to assess the actual benefits of the project, and it is essential to carry out the measurement and verification (M&V) of the results, which include tracking and monitoring of generation and solar irradiation for a period of twelve months. With these actions, it will be possible to determine the actual savings achieved by the project and ensure that the benefits of solar energy are maximized.

Keyphrases: M&V, solar energy, Solar Radiation Forecast
