Analysis of Mechanical Defects of Rotating Machines by the Method of Current Signature Analysis

EasyChair Preprint no. 4744

21 pagesDate: December 14, 2020

Abstract

The target area of the paper is the diagnostic measurements of electric rotary machines, be it industrial or industrial research applications. The theoretical and practical experience of recent years has provided a significant basis for the birth of the work. Mechanical failures significantly affect the turnaround time of industrial processes as well as the role of applications where motor failure is a significant impediment (pumps, compressors). Machines are often operated in locations where access can be challenging, due to safety zones or other reasons. Sometimes the pre-installed sensors are damaged due to vibration or excessive temperature, they provide uncertain data, a solution must be found.

Assessing the diagnostic process and application potential of electric rotary machines, which means considering and combining currently known measurement methods to identify a machine-specific fault that is not yet clearly known. There are destructive and non-destructive processes, both selected from families.
