Abstract

During the last decades we have seen how science has advanced by leaps and bounds. Electronic devices have evolved at the same pace. Micro and nanotechnology has meant that the size of the electronic circuits necessary for a section to work has been considerably reduced over time. All this has resulted in many electronic devices becoming obsolete over time. Technological progress is such that sometimes only the passage of a few years means that a piece of equipment no longer meets the standards to continue operating or that it is no longer attractive and its users leave it aside. This last case is that of cell phones, which often end up in drawers, cartons or closets, when their owners stop using them.

Technology has also achieved new forms of visual or musical reproduction, all through the Internet. With this, many equipment or devices designed in the last decade to be able to reproduce analog or digital multimedia formats, have also been forgotten. In some cases, for sentimental or practical reasons, these serve as an ornament or a support table or are simply kept in storage with the hope of one day being used again, a date that will not come.

In addition to the aforementioned, spare parts for equipment or machinery in the industrial sector, which are also removed from the process when they reach the end of their useful life, or when they need to be changed due to some defect or damage.

That is why it is necessary to create awareness in society so that electronic waste is properly managed. At the same time, the success of this management would mean the opportunity to be able to export them, promoting the exploitation of this activity for a certain sector.

Keyphrases: Desperdicios, Electrónica, Exportación, sociedad.
