Diamante, Riobamba Canton, Chimborazo ProvinceEasyChair Preprint 78067 pages•Date: April 18, 2022AbstractTo obtain patterns in the germination process, one of the problems is that a period of cold hours is necessary to break the dormancy of the seed and promote germination. The objective of the study was to determine the most appropriate dose of gibberellic acid to promote dormancy breaking in peach (Prunus persica) var. Diamante, for which a completely randomized experimental design (DCA) with factorial arrangement (a x b) with 16 treatments and four repetitions was used. Factor A was the doses of gibberellic acid, while factor B was the lunar phases. An analysis of variance was performed and Tukey's test at 5% was used to determine the statistical difference between the means of the treatments. To carry out the test, the seeds were immersed for a period of 6 hours in the solutions prepared with each of the doses of gibberellic acid, and sowing was carried out in each of the lunar phases according to the experimental design. The results obtained from the research work showed that; the application of 450 ppm of gibberellic acid results in a higher % of germination (68.75%). In the 3rd quarter was the lunar phase in which the highest percentage of germination was obtained (50%), however, with 150 ppm of gibberellic acid + 1st quarter, the time it takes for the seed to germinate is reduced compared to the other treatments.
