Reduction and Condensation Using Digital Technology to Furnish Small Residential Spaces

Abstract

Shedding light on the role of the interior designer in treating small residential interior spaces and transforming them into multi-purpose spaces is of great importance to discovering the possibility of benefiting from small spaces and the optimal solution for the interior space of spaces and design for openings, floors and furniture pieces in proportion to the small space of the contemporary multi-purpose dwelling. And this smart home must be an economic home to simulate all the different classes in society, through design treatments, whether in the interior design of the interior spaces or the design of furniture and the use of sustainable technology and materials. Therefore, the research problem came in the following question: What is the role of reduction and adaptation of jobs through controlling transformed furniture by digital technology in the optimal investment of small spaces? The research aims at revealing the possibility of investing in small spaces through reduction, functional condensation, and control of furniture transformation by means of digital technology. As for the spatial and temporal limit, the small housing units,  for the years 2020-2021. the theoretical framework entitled Furnishing small residential spaces and controlling by digital technology within the concepts of reduction and condensation. As for the research procedures, it was represented by the research methodology based on the descriptive approach in analyzing the sample models. It also included the research on the results and conclusions, the most important of which was: Condensation does not mean collecting units as they are, but finding new relationships between them after selecting and modifying them (adding and deleting) and then re-installing them. A new construction and technical formulation of what the designer chose, as the unit is formed according to its functions. While the research also presented the recommendations and suggestions and the beneficiaries.
