The 7th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage 2020, brings together a very diverse group of people in the computing profession and related technical fields to celebrate their knowledge and experience, as well as provides encouragement and networking opportunities for women in computing at every career stage. The motto of the event this year is "the equation has two sides", which reflects our desire to celebrate diversity and balance in our profession.
womENcourage 2020 will be hosted by ADA University in Baku, Azerbaijan on 24-26 September 2020. The three-day event includes keynote talks, workshops, technical posters sessions, a multi-sponsored career fair, panel discussions and a hackathon. Attendees will be able to meet with their peers in order to build on their networks of expertise, be inspired by many scientifically renowned invited speakers, and consider new career opportunities during the career fair.
Submission Guidelines
We welcome poster submissions from students of any gender and at any stage in their academic careers, be it undergraduate, Masters and Doctorate studies. Authors may submit unpublished work or adaptations of their previously published work. Poster submissions can have multiple authors (of any gender).
- One-page extended-abstract of the poster should follow the ACM conference publication format and must be submitted as a PDF file.
- Submissions should indicate clearly the authors' names and affiliations and must emphasize the importance of the contribution. More detailed guidelines can be found in the Poster Guidelines.
We Move Online
Due to the global pandemic, womENcourage 2020 will run as an online virtual event to ensure health and welfare of our attendees.
We are sad to remove the component of face-to-face interaction in a physical environment and to cancel the local travel experience and cultural program of the event. However we say #ExperienceAzerbaijanLater with a special welcome pack offer for our international attendees, courtesy of the Azerbaijan Convention Bureau.
At the same time the organizing committee is committed to deliver the program as close to the initially planned content as possible.
