The University of the Philippines Visayas (UPV) annually organizes and implements the International Conference on Fisheries and Aquatic Science (ICFAS), which aims to bring together individuals who are implementing programs and projects focused on or related to the fisheries and aquatic industries.
The 5th International Conference in Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences will be hosted by the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College. ICFAS 2019 will be held at Summit Hotel, Tacloban City, Leyte on November 6-7, 2019. Learn More
The University of the Philippines Visayas invites authors to submit abstracts of their completed or on-going research programs and projects for oral or poster presentations at the International Conference on Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences (ICFAS 2019), which will be held at the Summit Hotel, Tacloban City on November 6-7, 2019. The ICFAS 2019 is anchored on the theme, “Sustainable Fisheries and Aquatic Industries: Promoting Technological, Ecological, and Socio-cultural Resiliency.”
Submission Guidelines
All abstracts must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
Abstracts that will be submitted for presentation must fall under the following categories:

Marine and Aquatic Resources
- Current state of Marine biodiversity
- Fisheries and aquatic resources and climate change
- Aquatic resources, biodiversity, ecology, and environment
- Productivity of marine and other aquatic ecosystems
- Protection and/or Enhancement of Marine and Aquatic Resources (includes: Marine Protected Areas; Alternative fishery and aquatic resources for food, energy, and other applications)
- Other related topics

- Early Warning Systems
- Information and communications technology (ICT) for Early Warning Systems; fisheries and aquaculture

Interested participants must submit an abstract (PDF format) of their research on or before August 2, 2019, Friday August 9, 2019, Friday.
- Abstracts should be written in one paragraph with at least 150 and a maximum of 250 words and should be encoded in an A4 size bond paper, single column and single-spaced using Times New Roman, size 11.
- Abstracts should contain the Title (bold), name(s) of author(s), institutional affiliation, and preferably three to four Keywords (italicized).
The participant will receive a notice of acceptance or rejection through email on or before September 4, 2019, Wednesday.
