So What Are You Working On? 2020 is Stanford Graduate School of Education's graduate student-led day-long conference celebrating the research and work of graduate students, undergraduate student, alumni, staff, and affiliates. Stanford students and affiliates are welcome to apply.
Submission Guidelines
Submissions should be either in the form of papers, posters, panels, or workshops. Submissions can be in any state of preparation - from idea inception to complete. Work-in-progress projects are welcomed and encouraged!
- Papers (15 minutes) - Present in a 50-minute session, shared with 1-2 others. Each presentation will be approximately 15 minutes via Zoom with additional time for questions and moderation. Examples might include a Qualifying Paper, a Thesis, a paper prepared for publication, or dissertation findings.
- Posters (10 minutes) - Present your work in a shorter session (10 minutes) than a paper presentation. All presenters who choose poster format will be presenting with 1-2 others
will display their visuals in a common areaannd will share a short PowerPoint/Google Slide deck with all Zoom attendees. Example poster content might be work done for a research project report, final projects from a course, Master's project, or Master's thesis. Panels (50 minutes)- NO LONGER OFFERED.Submit a pre-assembled panel with other students for the 50-minute session. Co-panelists should have a similar research topic and presentation format. One person from your panel should identify your panel title on the submission form, indicating your panel members as co-authors. The panel title should be concise and descriptive to reflect the topic of all presentations. Panels are required to provide a student moderator. Please list your moderator as the last author of your panel and select them as the "presenter". Examples of panels might be an overview of Qualifying Paper proposals by first-year students or the work of a research team. Panel discussions will occur via Zoom.Workshops (50 minutes)- NO LONGER OFFERED.Present your work in an interactive format during a 50-minute Zoom session. Presenter(s) may discuss common issues with the audience or engage the audience in an activity. Presenter(s) should anticipate questions, comments and suggestions for future research. Examples might include seeking feedback on a professional development or research design, discussing a technique or a conceptual model, demonstrating a lesson, or leading a focus group on a topic important to the education community.
Venue
The conference will be held in the Center for Educational Research at Stanford online via Zoom on May 15, 2020. Zoom links will be provided via email prior to the conference.
