The organizing committee of the Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Conference (SCLC-2020, UiT The Arctic University of Norway, December 4-6, 2020) wants to announce several important updates:
The deadline for submissions is extended until June 15, 2020;
We still hope to have the conference as scheduled on December 4-6, 2020, as planned. The confirmed invited speaker of the conference is Martin Haspelmath. In case it will not be possible to hold SCLC-2020 in December, the event will be moved to June 2021. We have now the exact dates for this plan B: June 4-6, 2021. The confirmed invited speakers of the conference in June 2021 are Martin Haspelmath (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Human History) and Sergey Say (Institute for Linguistic Studies, Russian Academy of Sciences, Laboratory of Typology);
In case of plan B, all abstracts accepted for December 2020 will be automatically accepted for June 2021.

CALL FOR PAPERS
The Slavic Cognitive Linguistics Association (SCLA) will hold its 17th conference on December 4-6, 2020 at the northernmost university of the world, UiT The Arctic University of Norway in Tromsø, Norway. The conference will be locally organized and hosted by the CLEAR research group led by Tore Nesset and Laura A. Jandaat UiT. The confirmed invited speaker is Martin Haspelmath.
We invite abstracts for 20+10 min. presentations on any topic of relevance to Slavic Cognitive Linguistics. Abstracts should be based on work that has not yet been published. We especially encourage submissions from young researchers.
The deadline for abstract submission is 22.05.2020. Please, note that the NEW deadline for abstract submission is June 15, 2020. The same abstract submission link can be used.
Abstracts can be written in English or in any Slavic language. Abstracts should not be longer than 500 words, including references. Please refrain from any self-identification in the body of the abstract. Each individual may be involved in a maximum of two abstracts (maximum one as sole author). Abstracts should be submitted via EasyChair.
Authors will be notified of acceptance / rejection by 30.06.2020.

The conference will be held in Tromsø (Norway), at UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
