The AAAI 2021 Workshop on Reframing Diversity in AI: Representation, Inclusion, and Power is a one-day virtual event at the International Conference of the Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence. This event will bring together academic and industrial researchers to explore, frame, and implement inclusive solutions across three topic areas:
- The use of technology to address systemic racism as a means to reduce historical barriers of opportunity
- The need for inclusion of members of key groups including Black and Hispanic individuals in the concept, design and testing of technical solutions
- Participation in key decision-making roles to influence all aspects of minority engagement
Submission Guidelines
We invite scholars to submit a paper on their perspectives of addressing issues relating to at least one of the three topics above. We seek participants who are actively engaged and committed to these topics and are willing to collaborate with the workshop participants in future work, as we are interested in establishing a formal consortium of members and organizations to continue developing this work following the workshop.
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Whitepaper or extended abstract (1-2 pages)
- Full paper (4-6 pages)
