INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP ON NETWORKING WOMEN IN DISTRIBUTED COMPUTING AND NETWORKS (NWDCN)
in conjunction with ICDCN 2018, IIT BHU, Varanasi, Jan. 4-7, 2018, http://iitbhu.ac.in/ICDCN2018/)
Over the past decade, wireless communication and mobile computing have become the most influential technologies in the evolution of new form of distributed computing. Additionally, advances in cloud computing has changed the world of computing by eliminating the requirement of owning large-scale servers by the organizations and shifting the computing tasks towards the data centers. The combination of new forms of networks and distributed computing have given rise to emerging areas like Internet of Things, Social Networks, Big Data management and analytics etc.
The objective of this workshop is to connect newer generations of women researchers in the emerging areas of computer networks and distributed computing with the community to create a research forum in which students and junior researchers learn and discuss current trends with eminent scientists, present their results and receive feedback.
This Workshop also welcomes men who share the same research interests, attend the same conferences, and recognizes the additional career hurdles and obstacles of women.
Submission Guidelines
Posters are solicited for research and work in progress related to any aspect of Distributed Computing and Networking. All researchers in the fields of Distributed Computing and Networking are welcome to submit their work for presentation at this workshop. At least one author of the paper should be woman. Papers will be reviewed by the program committee. Accepted papers will be presented in the workshop. Each submission should be formatted as an extended abstract, describing the research to be presented in the poster. The length of the extended abstract should be at most TWO pages (formatted into the US letter size of 8.5 * 11 inches with fonts no smaller than 10 point size), including all figures and references. The extended abstract must include the names, affiliations and email addresses of all authors.
