The 3rd International Workshop on Intelligent Environments and Buildings (IEB'21) will be held within the 17th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE'21) in Dubai (UAE) on June 21-24 2021.
Smart city is an abstract projection of the community of the future. It is a conceptual perimeter defined by a set of needs that find answers in technologies, services and electronic applications. Traceability to different sectors such as smart building, inclusion, energy, environment, government, living, mobility, education, health, and much more could be made. Whether individually or collectively, these technologies, services and applications do not constitute a smart city if they are not integrated into a platform, a platform that ensures interoperability and coordination. Above all, the definition of appropriate tools for governance and financing are essential elements for the implementation of the political and social vision constituting the smart city.
As a vital component of the smart city, smart buildings can foster energy efficiency and tackle the reduction of CO2 emissions within the atmosphere. They can guarantee good lighting, ventilation, cooling rates, along with other aspects of building demands in real-time.
Monitoring and sensing combined solutions with simple and efficient methods are the protagonists of advanced sustainable building technology, for instance, the implementation of overheating mitigation strategies such as shading systems, free and ground-cooling.
