Emerging Innovations in Educational Media
The annual conference of International Council of Educational Media (ICEM) is a meeting place for researchers and practitioners in the field of educational media and technology-enhanced learning. ICEM is one of the oldest associations in the field, established by European ministries of education and UNESCO in 1950. The ICEM 2019 conference will take place at the FedEx Institute of Technology at the University of Memphis on September, 18-21-2018.
Come to Memphis, a city known for a rich musical history, global logistics, ground-breaking medical centers, and innovative schools.
The conference program will include presentations of research results and best practice, hands-on workshops, poster sessions, and special educational tours.
Emerging technologies are changing the landscape of educational media. From the introduction of virtual reality and augmented reality to the transformative capacity of data analytics, the way we are thinking about educational media is changing rapidly. For the 2019 ICEM we will explore the next phase of educational media by emphasizing the cutting edge of what’s possible. The theme “Emerging Innovations in Educational Media” will focus on the new possibilities in hardware integrations, the forefront of interactive classrooms, and the increasing opportunities for interactive training throughout the world.
Regardless of where we are in the world, access to quality education is imperative to improving our global society. Emerging technologies are opening classrooms and new opportunities for learning to those who may never have had access to such resources before. Whether this means introducing a coding education program into a rural school, providing interactive online classroom experiences that transcend the static models such as MOOCs, or building new opportunities for engagement that dig deeper than ever before, we can improve the lives of students and make education accessible to everyone.
