The International Biotechnology Conference Exhibition and Workshop (IBCEW) is a biannual event of the Department of Biological Sciences, Covenant University, Ota, Ogun State, that focuses on hands-on training preceding an international conference on Biotechnology. The workshop part of the IBCEW was held last year between September 13th - 17th 2021 in collaboration with Inqaba Biotech Limited. It was a huge success.
The IBCEW conference 2022 edition fits aptly into the overall goal of the University in driving local/indigenous knowledge for sustainable development in Nigeria, Africa and globally. Therefore, the Department of Biological Sciences proposes as follows:
Proposed Theme: BIOTECHNOLOGICAL TOOLS TO ACHIEVING SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS

- Food and Sustainable Agriculture
- Climate Change and Environmental Safety
- Health, Pandemic, and Biotechnology
- Biotechnology for Sustainable Bioeconomy
- Biotechnological Industries and SDGs
The IBCEW will provide an excellent opportunity for all participants to establish networks, to share ideas and to form partnerships with biotechnology-based private sectors, equipment manufacturers, technology providers, biotechnology associations, research institutes, universities, biotechnologists, and biotechnology students. It will be both hybrid and physical.
Objectives
- To explore current and future knowledge on Biotechnological tools to achieve sustainable development goals.
- To foster the exchange of new knowledge, experiences, and ideas among major stakeholders such as scientists, academics, students, industry representatives, and other professionals interested in biotechnology and the attainment of SDGs.
- To develop synergies and better relationships amongst the stakeholders to advance the field of Biotechnology.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts are invited for oral/or poster presentation(s). The abstract must be written and submitted in English Language (Times New Roman, font size 12), not more than 300 words excluding the title and author's name(s), and a maximum of five keywords. The title should be in bold capital letters followed by the full name(s) (Surname first) and address(es) of the author(s) including the e-mail address and phone number(s) of the corresponding author. Author(s) should indicate their presentation preference i.e., oral and/or poster at the foot of the abstract context. All abstracts are to be submitted as an e-mail attachment to ibcew@cu.edu.ng or follow the link:IBCEW 2022 (covenantuniversity.edu.ng)
All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
All the selected full-length peer-reviewed and plagiarism (<15%) articles will be published in Scopus/WoS indexed AIP Conference Proceedings.
