EESMTL2019: Ensuring Environmental Sustainability in the Modern Transportation and Logistics Era |
Abstract registration deadline | December 31, 2019 |

Submission deadline | March 15, 2020 |
An inter-governmental panel on climate change has published a detailed report. Therein, it is indicated that our planet should attain neutrality of carbon by the middle of this century and decarbonisation should be achieved by the year 2060. The sharp increase in vehicle population and the changing travel pattern are continuously raising the emission rate of CO2 and therefore a strong action is required to change this alarming situation. This book is destined to present an overlay of the intersections between environmental sustainability and transportation by deeply investigating the present problems. Further on, this book is to articulate implementation technologies, tools and processes towards sustainable environment. The various transportation strategies, planning, execution, policies and other value-adding mechanisms will be described in this book. The book also discusses various competent solutions for complex structural issues and describes different measures for estimating the social and the environmental impacts, non-motorized modes of transport, and assessment for sustainable transport infrastructure in an accurate manner. The contributions of the modern technologies like artificial intelligence (IA) algorithms, blockchain technology, genetic algorithms, fuzzy logic and bigdata in enhancing environment sustainability while keeping the modern transports intact are being explained with all the care and clarity.
