VIRTUAL PRESENTATIONS
This call is for proposals to be presented at the virtual DREAM IPC conference to be held September 23 and 24, 2021.
GENERAL GUIDELINES/REQUIREMENTS
- The DREAM IPC 2021 conference theme is “Meeting the Moment: Innovation and Inclusion in Integrated Primary Care”. The world is a very different place than it was in 2019 when the last DREAM IPC conference was held. In response, we have introduced an inaugural theme that reflects our current, climate, culture, and needs. Consistent with this theme and the mission of DREAM IPC, we are especially interested in proposals focusing on:
- Anti-racism and social justice approaches within IPC
- Innovative practices and adaptations due to COVID-19
- Innovative uses of technology to extend the reach of IPC
- We encourage submissions led by racial and ethnic minority trainees and faculty at all levels of career development.
- All proposals will be peer reviewed and may be submitted as oral (symposium, blitz session) or poster presentations. A blitz presentation proposal that is not accepted WILL automatically be considered for poster presentation.
- Multiple submissions from the same dataset are discouraged. A study divided into small sub- studies is discouraged unless there is clear rationale for presenting various aims in different abstracts.
- Each abstract should represent final and original results. Abstracts based on ongoing projects will be evaluated in light of likelihood of complete data by the conference. Abstracts with complete data are preferred.
POSTER SUBMISSIONS
Poster abstracts must not exceed 300 words (not including authors and title) and must include the following headings:
- Introduction (background, objective)
- Methods (sample, procedures, measures, analysis)
- Results (primary findings)
- Conclusions (implications)
Format: Our poster sessions will be held on Twitter

WORKSHOPS FOR CONTINUING EDUCATION CREDIT
DREAM IPC Program Chairs are accepting virtual CE Workshop proposals that represent the lifelong learning needs of integrated primary care providers and researchers. DREAM IPC 2021 will offer 2-hour virtual workshops on a range of topics. An emphasis is placed on interactive workshops that actively engage participants in a variety of learning modes and facilitate the translation of new knowledge and skills into professional practices and services. Submit a continuing education (CE) workshop proposal and share your expertise with colleagues.
Submissions for workshops will be considered for 120-minute sessions. Workshop submissions must include:
- Overall summary of the workshop, including theme, structure, and relevance of the workshop to the conference (400 word limit; abstract)
- Brief description of how issues related to diversity (broadly defined in terms of sex/gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, etc.) will be integrated into the session (300 word limit)
- A separate brief description of how the workshop will engage participants virtually (300 word limit; see details about virtual platform below)
DREAM IPC is seeking proposals that are relevant to practice, education, and science; enable integrated primary care professionals to keep pace with emerging issues and technologies. Our program chairs are committed to gender and ethnic diversity representation among workshop presenters, and all proposals should address these issues in the content and format of the workshop.
The CE Workshops will be hosted live on a virtual platform (details to follow). The platform supports PowerPoint, polling questions, video clips, and chat-based question and answer. Presenters are asked to use their webcam to share video of themselves during the live presentation. Attendees will not be on webcams and attendee microphones will not be activated. For the purposes of these workshops, the platform will NOT support break out rooms or discussion between participants. Workshops that rely heavily on discussion, small-group breakout, or the physical distribution or utilization of materials, may need to be modified, or may not suit themselves for, the virtual presentation format.
Accepted workshop proposals will be scheduled on September 23, 2021. Presenters must be available to present their workshop on this day.
Questions? It may be useful to reach out to the DREAM IPC program chairs ahead of the proposal deadline. Contact program chairs at dreamconference@nemours.org .
SYMPOSIA SUBMISSIONS
Submissions for symposia will be considered for 60-minute sessions. Symposia submissions must include:
- Overall summary of the symposium, including theme, structure, relevance of the symposium to the conference, and names of chair(s) and discussant (400 word limit)
- Brief description of how issues related to diversity (broadly defined in terms of sex/gender, race/ethnicity, socioeconomic status, etc.) will be integrated into the session
- A separate abstract for each individual talk in the symposium (300 word limit per abstract)
Symposia must have a clear coherent theme that ideally fits with the theme of the conference. Symposia may include up to 4 speakers (including the discussant); speakers should reflect unique perspectives, preferably from different institutions.
BLITZ SUBMISSIONS
Submissions for individual 10-minute oral blitz presentations will be considered. Emerging research, QI, and clinical practices related to “Meeting the Moment: Innovation and Inclusion in Integrated Primary Care” are encouraged. Accepted submissions will be assigned to 60-minute sessions comprised of four blitzes, organized by theme, with a provided discussant. Several 60-minute sessions will be offered, including a Student Research Spotlight session.
Data blitz abstracts must not exceed 300 words (not including authors and title). Please use "student" as one of your keywords to be considered for the Student Research Spotlight.
