Engaging Digital Learning Experiences
LINC Pre-conference Workshop (June 17, 2019, 10 AM to 4 PM) hosted by the Digital Learning Lab and MITx
The Engaging Digital Learning Experiences Workshop is a space to share lessons learned from developing and executing MOOCs and blended/hybrid learning projects and showcase innovations in design, assessment, and implementation. The Engaging Digital Learning Experiences Workshop will be an active, discussion-based program, primarily aimed at practitioners that construct and run online courses or digital learning experiences. However, interested researchers, administrators, entrepreneurs, technologists, and funders are welcome to attend, present, and engage in discussion.
Goals:
- Create a space for digital learning practitioners to share their work, explore new collaborations, and network with peers from other institutions and countries.
- Open the door for the international community to learn about the MOOCs and blended/hybrid learning work happening at both MIT and other institutions.
- Provide an applied, interactive workshop that gives digital learning practitioners an opportunity to explore and discuss topics critical to their work.
You can register for the workshop through MIT LINC registration. This event is called Workshop 1. Direct all registration questions there.
Submission Guidelines
All papers must be original, recent, and not simultaneously accepted to present at LINC. The following paper categories are welcome:
- Data-Driven Course Design
- MOOC Success Stories
- Blended/Hybrid Learning
- Applications of the Science of Learning (in Online and Blended/Hybrid Learning)
- Innovative Use of Digital Learning Environments
Submit a PDF of a 2-page summary paper describing a story of your work that fits in at least one of the workshop categories. The work may be in-progress. You can describe a successful implementation of a digital learning experience or a project that provided many lessons learned. Use the given template to write your summary. Poor writing or failure to follow the 2-page template format could result in rejection as a paper selected to present. If accepted, the program committee will give authors an opportunity to revise based on feedback. We expect to post final PDF copies on a website. In the workshop, selected authors will give 5-minute talks with additional time for disucssion with the other participants.
