Construction is becoming increasingly digital and automated in research and practice. Within planning, realization, and operational phases of buildings, Building Information Modeling/Management (BIM) is nowadays accepted as an efficient approach. However, many open research problems in that field exist, and many of them are related to close-range photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geoinformatics. Examples are: The material sciences, where material behavior needs to be monitored and analyzed, for instance from additive manufacturing-based methods; quality control of constructed components and the entire construction site; automatic building (as-is) modeling in the BIM-context; deformation and structural-health monitoring.
In this light, we invite PhD students of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Geoinformatics domain to submit abstracts describing their (ongoing) research work. The seminar will feature a limited number of oral presentations, selected out of the submitted abstracts, as well as poster sessions. All presentations will be accompanied by lively discussions with the peers and supervisors. In addition, two keynotes will be provided in order to deepen the scientific discussion.
Submission Guidelines
Abstracts shall highlight the overarching research question or hypothesis of the planned PhD thesis, summarize and cite the publications of the candidate in this context, and discuss challenges that will be addressed next. Each abstract will be reviewed by at least two reviewers. Accepted abstracts will be made online available on the seminar website prior to the seminar.
Every accepted abstract will be selected for an oral presentation or a poster. A preference can be specified in the submission system.
All abstracts need to be formatted using one of the abstract templates (DOC or LATEX) for ISPRS sponsored meetings: https://www.isprs.org/documents/orangebook/app5.aspx
A strict page limit of two pages will be applied. The recommended length for abstracts is one page.
