the International Conference on Geoinformatics (CPGIS Annual Conference)
Since its inception in 1992, the International Association of Chinese Professionals in Geographic Information Sciences (CPGIS) has sponsored the International Conference on Geoinformatics (CPGIS Annual Conference) annually, which has grown into a major international event among GIS professionals. The conference has attracted not only prominent GIS experts and scholars within China and beyond, but also those applying GIS technologies to China and Asian studies. In addition to presenting cutting-edge GIS research and technologies, this annual event provides a unique platform for effective communication and interactions among conference participants, eventually building new ties for international collaborations.
2027 Theme: Trustworthy GeoAI for Resilient Urban Futures
Rapid advances in geospatial technologies, artificial intelligence, and urban sensing are fundamentally transforming how cities are understood and managed. GeoAI is increasingly applied in urban planning, environmental monitoring, public health, and disaster response. However, these developments also introduce critical challenges related to uncertainty, reliability, interpretability, and ethical use.
Against this background, the theme Trustworthy GeoAI for Resilient Urban Futures aims to advance robust, transparent, and human-centered geospatial intelligence. The conference brings together scholars from GIScience, urban analytics, data science, and related fields to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, methodological innovation, and real-world applications.
Conference Sessions Include, but Are Not Limited to
- Uncertainty and Trustworthiness in GeoAI
- Cyberinfrastructure for Resilient Urban Systems
