The 2022 Continuing Excellence in Teaching and Learning in Mathematics, Statistics and Operational Research (CETL-MSOR) conference will take place on 1st and 2nd September 2022 at Abertay University in Dundee, Scotland. Papers are invited according to the guidelines and conference topics listed below.
Submission Guidelines
We invite you to submit abstracts for oral presentations (20 minute session) and lightning talks (3 minute presentation plus 2 minutes of questions). We are also interested in receiving student-led submissions. Abstracts for the 20-minute oral presentations should be no more than 300 words and abstracts for lightning sessions should be no more than 150 words.
The deadline for abstracts has been extended to 1st July 2022, and registration will close on 24th July (early bird) and 25th August (standard).
List of Topics
The Conference Committee warmly welcomes submissions relating to the learning and teaching of mathematics and statistics within any discipline in higher education. For CETL-MSOR 2022, we are particularly keen to receive submissions that can demonstrate enhancements that are based on reflective and evidence-informed practice in relation to the following themes:
- Digital accessibility
- Modes of delivery in Mathematical Sciences - the best of the old and the new
- Widening access, articulation and outreach
- Student engagement, what is it and how do we measure it?
Interesting contributions from other areas of learning and teaching of MSOR will also be welcomed.

In addition, the SIGMA Annual General Meeting will take place at the end of the first day of the conference.
Publication
CETL MSOR 2022 presenters will be invited to submit a paper to a special edition of MSOR Connections based on proceedings at the conference.

The deadline for abstracts is 1st July 2022, and the registration deadline is 25th August 2022. Early bird rates are available until 24th July (subject to availability).
