The Annual Meeting on Phonology (AMP) is held every Fall and showcases high quality research in all areas of phonology. In 2022, AMP will be hosted by the University of California, Los Angeles. Dates are Friday, October 21st to Sunday, October 23rd.
At present, AMP 2022 is planned to be held in person, though we will switch to an online meeting if necessary.
Submission Guidelines
We invite abstracts for either oral presentation (20 minutes, followed by 10 minutes of discussion) or poster presentation. Abstracts must be anonymous, so please be sure to eliminate any identifying information and metadata from the document. Length is limited to a maximum of two single-spaced pages (US Letter), figures and references included. Font size should be 12-point, with margins of at least one inch (2.54cm) left on all sides. Abstracts must be submitted in .pdf format.
Submissions are limited to two per author, with at most one submission being single- or primary-authored.
All submissions must be novel work, not published or accepted at a journal, nor given or scheduled at another conference.
We invite abstracts in any area that bears on the central questions of our discipline, including work based on consultant data, work in phonological theory, computational phonology, corpus phonology, experimental phonology, diachronic change, acquisition, sign language phonology, and the interface of phonology with neighboring disciplines.
The deadline for abstract submission is Friday, June 3, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time). Abstract submission is open as of May 1, 2022.
Phonology software workshop at AMP 2022
AMP this year will include a Friday morning session of workshops and tutorials. The workshop, on phonological software, is organized by Kie Zuraw and Connor Mayer, and is soliciting abstracts for presentations in which those who have developed phonological software can share their work and lead participants in a brief (20-minute) tutorial. Software may be intended for learning, teaching, or research in phonology. We especially welcome submissions about software that promotes research reproducibility by allowing researchers to easily incorporate phonological analysis into a script (such as in R or Python). Please submit an abstract that describes your software (its purpose, and what it can do), as well as the activities that you would lead workshop participants in. Maximum length is two pages, including figures. You are welcome to submit to the workshop in addition to submitting to the main session of AMP. Abstracts to the workshop should be submitted not to the EasyChair site, but at the organizer email, amp2022ucla@gmail.com.
Deadline extended (only for the workshop): Deadline for submission is Friday June 10, 2022 at 11:59 p.m. (Pacific Time).
