The 31st Ada-Europe International Conference on Reliable Software Technologies (AEiC 2027) will take place in Berlin, Germany.

The conference is a leading international forum for providers, practitioners, and researchers in reliable software technologies. The conference presentations will illustrate current work in the theory and practice of the design, development, and maintenance of long-lived, high-quality software systems for a challenging variety of application domains.

The topics of interest for the conference include but are not limited to:

• Cyber security
• Safe and secure software for critical systems and infrastructures
• High-integrity systems and reliability
• Software and AI for space missions
• AI for safety-critical and high-integrity systems engineering
• Automated coding for real-time and embedded systems
• Ada language and technologies
• SPARK, Rust and formally verified systems
• Formal methods, testing, and model-based engineering of critical systems
• Applications and experimental evaluations in relevant domains

The conference schedule comprises keynote talks, a journal track, a regular papers track, an industrial track, a work-in-progress track, a vendor exhibition, parallel tutorials, and satellite workshops.

• Journal track papers present research advances supported by solid theoretical foundation and thorough evaluation.
• Regular track papers present proceedings-level (full paper) research advances.
• Industrial track contributions highlight industrial open challenges and/or the practitioners' side of a relevant case study or industrial project.
• Work-in-progress track papers illustrate novel research ideas that are still at an initial stage, between conception and first prototype.
• Tutorials guide attenders through a hands-on familiarization with innovative developments or with useful features related to reliable software.
• Workshops provide discussion forums on themes related to the conference topics.
• Vendor presentations and exhibitions allow for companies to showcase their latest products and services.

Call for Journal Track Submissions

This edition of the conference again includes a journal track which seeks original and high-quality papers that describe mature research work on the conference topics. Accepted journal track papers will be published in the a Special Issue of the Journal of Systems Architecture (JSA), approval pending.

Although JSA does not enforce any page limitation for its articles, submissions should not exceed 25 pages (in case the authors need more pages, the journal track chairs need to be contacted at aeic2027@ada-deutschland.de). An effort to synthesize and keep only necessary contents is asked for.

JSA has adopted the Virtual Special Issue model to speed up the publication process, where Special Issue papers are published in regular issues, but marked as SI papers. Acceptance decisions are made on a rolling basis. Therefore, authors are encouraged to submit papers early, and need not wait until the submission deadline. Authors who have successfully passed the first round of review will be required to present their work at the conference. The abstract of the accepted contributions will be included in the conference booklet.

Call for Regular Track Submissions

The conference includes a regular track, which seeks proceeding-level, original and high-quality submissions, not submitted elsewhere, which describe mature research work on the conference topics. Accepted papers will be published in the Open Access Series in Informatics (aproval pending) and should be formatted according to the one-column format, not exceeding 16 pages, excluding references. Call for Industrial Track Submissions

The conference seeks industrial practitioner presentations that deliver insight on the challenges of developing reliable software. Given their applied nature, such contributions will be subject to a dedicated practitioner peer-review process.

Interested authors shall submit a short (1‐to‐2 pages) abstract, strictly in PDF, following the Ada User Journal style. The submission template is available as LaTex, Word or LibreOffice.

The corresponding authors will get a presentation slot in the prime‐time technical program of the conference, and will also be invited to expand their contributions into full‐fledged articles for publication in the Ada User Journal, which will form the proceedings of the industrial track of the conference.

The industrial track welcomes contributions that fit the general scope of the conference, and actively address the perspective of practitioners on the topic of interest. Especially welcome are submissions of the following kind:

• Open challenges and future perspectives on the development of reliable software, high-integrity systems and cyber-physical systems.
• Experience with languages, tools, methodologies, and products for the achievement of safety and reliability in large or complex projects and systems.
• Lessons learned in the design, implementation and deployment of reliable software, high-integrity systems, real-time and embedded systems, etc.
• Insights into language tools and libraries that incorporate or target reliability in software.
• Reports and highlights from ongoing or completed challenging projects where software is a critical component of the system.
• Practical hands-on sharing of knowledge gained in the practice of building reliable software.
• Usage of reliable software technologies in general.

Call for Work‐in‐Progress Track Submissions

The work‐in‐progress track seeks two kinds of submissions:

• Ongoing research submissions are 4‐page papers describing research results that are not mature enough to be submitted to the journal track.
• Early‐stage ideas are 1‐page papers that pitch new research directions that fall within the scope of the conference.

This track is expected to address emerging areas where reliability is a first-class requirement. Work-in-progress submissions may cover new application domains, new technologies, and new methods related to reliable software, such as autonomous systems, IoT, Industries 4.0, AI for critical systems, cloud and edge, security, energy management, etc.

Both kinds of submissions must be original and shall undergo anonymous peer review. Submissions by recent MSc graduates and PhD students are especially encouraged.

Interested authors shall submit their work strictly in PDF, following the Ada User Journal style. The submission template is available for LaTex, Word, and LibreOffice.

The Journal of Systems Architecture, publication venue of the journal‐track proceedings of the conference, is Q1 ranked, with CiteScore 10.5 and Impact Factor 4.1.
The OASIcs series, venue for regular track proceedings, provides Open Access online publications, and is indexed by SCOPUS and DBPL.
The Ada User Journal, venue of the other technical proceedings of the conference, is indexed by Scopus and by EBSCOhost in the Academic Search Ultimate database.

Conference Booklet

The abstract of the accepted contributions (journal, regular, industrial, work in progress) will be included in the conference booklet, which will be distributed to all participants, and made available online.

Call for Workshops

The conference welcomes satellite workshops centred on themes that fall within the conference scope. Proposals may be submitted for half‐ or full‐day events, to be scheduled at either end of the AEiC conference.

Workshop organizers shall also commit to producing the proceedings of the event, for publication in the Ada User Journal.

Workshop proposals shall be submitted at any time but no later than the deadline to the general chairs at aeic2027@ada-deutschland.de, with subject line "AEiC 2027: Workshop proposal". Once submitted, each workshop proposal will be evaluated by the conference organizers as soon as possible.

Call for Tutorials

The conference seeks tutorials in the form of educational seminars on themes falling within the scope of the conference, with hands‐on or practical elements, and a topical slant oriented to selected targets in the typical conference audience.

The conference audience includes professionals who work in critical systems or develop features for them, students in computer science or engineering education, academic researchers in the field of conference interest, or people who merely approach software development as a hobby.

If you have developed or learned of libraries, tools, compilers, methodologies or programming languages related with reliable systems that may ease the software development job of others, you would be a natural candidate for offering a tutorial.

Tutorial proposals include:

• A title
• A short abstract (between 100 and 200 words)
• A bulleted-list outline of the presentation topics
• The proposed duration (half day or full day)
• The intended target and level of the contents (introductory, intermediate, or advanced)
• A statement motivating attendance.

Tutorials should be delivered in presence unless exceptional circumstances should dictate otherwise. Tutorial proposals should indicate whether additional audience might be remote.

Tutorial proposals shall be submitted at any time, but no later than the published deadline, to the conference chairs at aeic2027@ada-deutschland.de with subject line "AEiC 2027: Tutorial proposal".

The authors of accepted full‐day tutorials will receive a complimentary conference registration, halved for half‐day tutorials. The Ada User Journal will offer space for the publication of summaries of the accepted tutorials.
