CALL FOR PAPERS AND PRESENTATIONS
FEDERATION OF BUSINESS DISCIPLINES CONFERENCE March 17-21, 2021 VIRTUAL CONFERENCE
You are invited to submit a completed paper, proposal (research in progress), or presentation (extended abstract) for consideration to be presented at the 2021 ABIS Virtual Conference.
Submission Deadline: (FINAL EXTENSION) Friday, November 20th, 2020.
Submissions related to the following topics are encouraged:
- Computer and Software Applications (e.g., MS Office)
- Database/Records Management
- Distance and Mobile Learning
- Information Systems Curriculum Development
- Information Systems, Networks, and Programming
- Social Media Practices, Pedagogy, and Security
- Teaching and Corporate Training Platforms
- Web Design and E-Commerce
- Wireless and Cloud Computing
- Business Analytics
Submission Definitions:
Completed Papers:
- Completed papers should be ‘publication ready’, with all research components completed.
- Length: At least 1500 words not including the Abstract. (3000 – 6000 words required for JRBIS submission).
- Includes: Abstract (100 – 500 words), Statement of the Problem, Review of Related Literature, Description of Methodology/Procedures, Results and Conclusions.
Proposal (Research in Progress):
- Proposals are considered research in progress and should have a completed review of the literature and a proposed methodology.
- Length: At least 500 words not including the Abstract.
- Includes: Abstract (100 – 500 words), Statement of the Problem, Review of Related Literature, Proposed Methodology
Presentation (Extended Abstract):
- Presentations are considered topical presentations that may cover innovative and ‘best practice’ topics.
- Length: At least 250 words including Abstract.
- Includes: Abstract (100 – 500 words), Summary of Presentation
Submission Guidelines:
- All submissions should follow APA formatting.
- Submissions must be entirely original: not under concurrent consideration, scheduled for presentation elsewhere, or previously published.
- Submissions are blind reviewed.
- Paper/abstract should have only the title and classification on the cover page. Classification is “completed paper”, “proposal”, or “presentation.
- Submission should be a Microsoft Word document (.doc or .docx).
- Submit via EasyChair (https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=abis2021).
- Please include all author information when submitting to EasyChair.
Additional Information:
- Completed papers selected for presentation will be eligible for the Distinguished Paper Award.
- The Distinguished Paper Award winner will be conditionally accepted for peer review to the Cabell’s listed Journal for Research in Business Information Systems (JRBIS).
- All accepted submissions will be eligible for publication in the conference proceedings.
- Accepted submissions that are successfully presented at the ABIS conference will be eligible (as a complete paper) to submit to the next issue of the Journal for Research in Business Information Systems (JRBIS).

** All accepted submissions must have at least one conference-attending author who must register with ABIS (Totaling ~$65) to be qualified for submission to either the ABIS Proceedings or JRBIS. Remote live presentation is planed but recorded submissions will be accepted where necessary.
FBD Statement of Academic Integrity: Your submission should not have been previously published or previously presented at any conference. Please indicate to the program chair if your submission is currently under consideration to another FBD association. If your paper is later accepted by another FBD association, it is your responsibility to notify the appropriate program chairs.
