IROS Workshop Invitation: Call for Extended Abstracts.
Workshop title: Unlocking the Potential: Innovations in Drone-Assisted Infrastructure Inspection and Maintenance.
We invite you to submit extended abstracts for our upcoming workshop on Innovation in drone technology.
Workshop summary:
Drones have become essential tools for inspecting and maintaining critical infrastructures that are otherwise hard to access, such as powerlines, wind turbines, and bridges. Despite their increasing adoption, both research and commercial drone platforms are still evolving, with a need for essential features to enable effective autonomous inspection. Often, significant human intervention is required. This workshop aims to illuminate the forefront of research and innovation in the field of autonomous and intelligent drones for infrastructure inspection and interactions. The workshop will present the latest achievements in this area, shedding light on the remarkable steps made in the development of the drone platform. Participants will gain insights into cutting-edge technologies, methodologies, and best practices that have pushed the boundaries of what drones can achieve in inspecting and maintaining critical infrastructures. The workshop will serve as a forum for experts, researchers, and practitioners to share experiences and expertise, fostering collaboration and knowledge exchange. Key topics of discussion will include Drone autonomy, edge computing, energy harvesting, sensor integration, control, and AI. By bringing together a diverse community of stakeholders, this workshop aspires to accelerate progress in autonomous drone-based inspections and contribute to the ongoing evolution of these vital technologies.
