The International Conference on Water Management and Sustainability: Solutions for Arid Regions (WMS-EXPO2020) will be held under the co-patronage of HE Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure, UAE, and the Hon David Speirs, Minster of Environment and Water, Government of South Australia. To discuss global water issues and address future challenges, and in line with the theme of Expo 2020 Dubai - Connecting Minds, Creating the Future - the National Water and Energy Center, United Arab Emirates University and the South Australian Goyder Institute for Water Research with the Department for Environment and Water are jointly organizing this Conference. The conference is designed to provide a forum for discussion and presentation of a new vision, advanced science, innovative technologies, and prominent practices that will shape the future of water management and sustainability in arid and semi-arid regions around the globe.
The conference will address current challenges and priorities to efficiently manage the limited water resources in arid and semi-arid regions, with the main goal to promote the sharing and exchange of state-of-the-art scientific, technological and policy knowledge on water resources management and sustainability. The event will provide an opportunity for the decision makers, practitioners, managers, and researchers to come together and share their expertise, develop new partnerships, and discover solutions to meet future challenges in the field of water resource management, with a particular focus on solutions for arid and semi-arid regions. The conference will bring together international experts working in industry, academia, and government.
With the participation of international water scientists, engineers, experts, academics, policy makers, and industry, this conference will be serving as the largest gathering of water specialists in 2022. Moreover, a number of leading experts, distinguished scientists, and policy makers will be invited to deliver keynote lectures at the event.
Covering both technical and policy-focused topics, the two-day conference program will comprise plenary presentations delivered by well-known keynote speakers, as well as oral presentations and poster sessions showcasing recent innovations and research findings. The program will also include interactive workshops exploring current and future challenges and opportunities for change, as well as a showcase of innovative water technologies from the United Arab Emirates, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Countries, Australia, and beyond.
We welcome participation from around the world and development of further connections with the global water community.
