Description
The COVID-19 pandemic is an exceptional situation in this modern globalized world, which has created an extraordinary emergency that has affected, in particular, the supply chain. Supply chain disruptions, combined with the enormous need for medical devices and health care protective equipment, created the need for new initiatives and the use of emerging technologies such as Additive Manufacturing (AM) to support health care professionals.
AM has supported the shortage of medical supplies and has transformed manufacturing by enabling individuals and companies to produce items as part of the fight against VIDOC-19.
A community of "Makers" led by qualified engineers began working on the demand for PPE and other healthcare products using mainly 3D printers by providing free support and access to their designs. This worldwide community, with collaborators from industrial and academic institutions, organized and established huge networks in a short period of time to distribute 3D printed items to healthcare professionals.
This workshop is held on the margins of the conference CASICAM’20 and within the framework of the “Selcom-Maroc” project funded by “Agence Universitaire Francophone" and piloted by the Faculty of Science and Technology of Tangier.
Submission Guidelines
Full paper manuscripts will be submitted with a maximum length of 8 pages (including abstract and references) until the September 1st, 2020.
The manuscripts should be formatted according to the CASICAM’20 template.
All papers are refereed through a peer review process.
