VIIA-19: 2019 IET's Vision and Imaging Technology Award |

The IET’s Vision and Imaging Network is giving an award to the best technology demo in the field of Vision and Imaging. Applicants are invited to submit an A3 mini-poster (in PDF format) also containing the URL to a short video demonstration describing their research and technology work. Submission is open to any researchers and innovators from both academia or industry. There will be two categories: Student Technology and General Technology. Each submission will be judged on the basis of technical excellence, value of the work to the wider community and public benefit, implementation of the idea and business potential. Applicants with the most impressive technologies will be invited to take part in a final dedicated demonstration session during the ICDP2019 conference in London (16-18 December, University of Westminster), where each demo will be judged by a panel of experts and participants of the ICDP conference. The winners in each category will receive a price of £500 and promotion of their work by IET dissemination channels, for example the winners might be asked to participate in a webminar demo of their work.
Nominations
Self nominations consisting of an A3 mini poster (in PDF format and containing a URL to a short video demonstration of the work) have to be uploaded to https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=viia19 by the announced deadline. The poster should contain your name (indicating if you are a student), your organisation and your email address. The competition is also open to international contestants.
Judging
The judging panel will be made up of the committee members of the IET Vision and Imaging Network or their nominees
Judging criteria
Each submission will be judged on the basis of technical excellence, value of the work to the wider engineering community and public benefit, business potential, novelty of the basic idea and its implementation.

A single person may make only one entry for each prize category (student, industry)

Entries must be submitted through the web page https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=viia19 and consisting of an A3 poster in PDF format. The poster needs to include a URL to a video demo.

It is a condition of entry that the applicant agrees for their name, poster and video to be published if they win the award. Winners will be expected to sign any reasonable agreements in respect of the publishing or reproduction of their poster and video.

The decision of the judges is final and interpretation of the term 'best' is entirely at their discretion.

Neither the judges, committee members of the V&I Network or the IET will enter into any correspondence with regards to judging decisions.
