Thredbo 17: Thredbo 17: 17th International Conference on Competition and Ownership in Land Passenger Transport ITLS, University of Sydney Sydney, Australia, September 4-9, 2022

The Thredbo conference series has garnered a formidable reputation for being the premier international forum dedicated to the analysis and debate of competition and ownership issues in land passenger transport. This influential forum attracts high quality participation and delivers a large portfolio of impressive material synthesising developments not only from developed economies but increasingly from developing economies.

The conference series is directed towards a broad audience of industry players (government and public transport operators), policy makers, planners, decision makers on infrastructure and service operators, consultants, researchers, academics and students. 

Submission Guidelines

All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference. 

• Abstracts of no more than 500 words are to be submitted by 31 December 2021.
• Full papers are invited that address one of the following seven workshop themes of the conference:

  • Workshop 1: Regulatory regimes: national and comparative regulation of public transport

  • Workshop 2: Contracting and concessions: governance of the relationship between authorities and operators. (Governance, competition and ownership)

  • Workshop 3: Infrastructure, services and urban development

  • Workshop 4: Optimising the impact of technological innovation on achieving sustainable public

  • Workshop 5: WS5b New service models (Suspect lots of papers here): Governing emerging mobility servicesWorkshop

  • Workshop 6: Micromobility movement in urban transportWorkshop

  • Workshop 7: Sustainable transport systems designed to meet the needs of both users and residents
