TSB 2018: The 30th annual meeting of the Thai Society for Biotechnology and International Conference Ambassador Hotel Bangkok Bangkok, Thailand, November 22-23, 2018

Welcome to TSB 2018. This time, the theme of the conference is "Bridging Research and Society's Needs”. With the global population exponentially increasing, and the resources rapidly dwindling, traditional methods for food, medicine, and fuel production will soon be incapable of sustaining our livelihood. There is never a better time to ask ourselves: how can we use biotechnology to close the enlarging gap between nature’s supply and society’s demand? To this end, TSB 2018 is intended to raise awareness and stimulate discussions among participants, so that we can take one step closer toward answering this critical question.

Jointly organized by the Thai Society for Biotechnology (TSB) and the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, the 2018 conference will cover major and emerging aspects of research in the field of biotechnology, and is divided into 8 sessions:

1. Agricultural & Environmental Biotechnology (AEB)
2. Molecular Biology and Bioinformatics (MBB)
3. Food Biotechnology and Food Safety (FBS)
4. Biotransformation and Bioprocess Engineering (BBE)
5. Microbiology and Microbiome Research (MMR)
6. Biomarkers and Stem Cell Therapeutics (BST)
7. Chemical and Synthetic Biology (CSB)
8. Biopharmaceuticals and Medical Biotechnology (BMB)

In addition to the above-mentioned sessions, we have arranged for Thailand-Japan joint seminar and Thailand-Taiwan joint seminar to foster research network and regional collaborations. We also have a workshop on stem cell management and a special session on partnership opportunities to facilitate knowledge transfer from research to industry.
