Welcome to the Higher Colleges of Technology’s (HCT) 2019 International Business Conference, convened by the HCT’s Faculty of Business. This year, the focus is on Transformative Business Models – Disruptive Innovation in Finance, Logistics and Tourism.
The conference will be held on March 18-19, 2019 at the HCT Sharjah campus, and it will focus on new business model that have recently transformed many industries and markets.
Submission Guidelines
Industry and Academic professionals from throughout the MENA region and beyond are encouraged to submit proposals for papers on a topic of their choice relating to the session themes. All papers must be original and not simultaneously submitted to another journal or conference.
- The deadline for submitting a detailed abstract (500 words) and full author details is January 25, 2019. Selection of conference papers is based on the abstract. Presenters will be notified whether they have been successful by January 22, 2019.
- The full conference paper is due on February 15, 2019 and must be an original submission not presented or published elsewhere.
- Both abstracts and full papers should be submitted as a MS Word file or PDF via Conference registration website.
- Papers should be no more than 5,000 words, single spaced in Times New Roman 12 point
- Papers should be in English with an abstract, and the presenter must be fluent in English
- Twenty (20) minutes will be allowed for the paper presentation in the Conference.
- The author(s) should indicate his/her personal full contact details and include a brief biographical note with the paper. Selection Full abstracts (500 words) should be prepared following the template provided below.
- Each abstract will be blind reviewed by members of the Scientific Committee

The selected papers should contain, but not be limited to, the following:
- Purpose of the paper
- Theme – How does the paper relate to the theme of conference
- Design/methodology/approach – How are the objectives achieved? Include the main method(s) used for the study.
- Findings – What was found in the course of the work? This will refer to analysis, discussion, or results.
- Research limitations/implications (if applicable)
- Practical implications (if applicable) – All papers are expected to have practical applications. What is original/value of paper?

- Manuscripts due by April 30, 2019
- Notification to authors: June 30, 2019
- Final version due by August 30, 2019
