The 6th Strathmore International Mathematics Conference (SIMC 2021) is a biennial conference aimed at building capacity for research in Mathematics and its Applications. The conference will be organized in plenary and parallel sessions of oral and virtual presentations. The Conference paper presentation sessions will be preceded by a 2-day schools (June 28 and 29) on broad research topics of contemporary interest and relevance.
Theme: Advancing Research and Education in Mathematical Sciences in the Big Data Era
Conference Goal
The goal of this conference is to provide opportunities for mathematics researchers from around the world, working in various mathematical disciplines, to discuss latest developments and share their research results in contemporary areas of mathematics research and applications. This conference also intends to forge new cross-disciplinary interactions among participants and farther existing partnerships among the international mathematics community and in particular, young researchers in Eastern Africa. The conference provides a unique opportunity for in-depth technical discussions and exchange of ideas in mathematical sciences, as well as explores the potential of their applications in natural, biomedical and social sciences, engineering and technology and industry and finance.
Conference Objectives:
- To provide a forum for researchers, educators, students, contributors, users of mathematical knowledge and industries to exchange ideas and communicate and discuss research findings and new advancement in mathematical sciences.
- To explore possible avenues to foster academic and student exchange, as well as scientific activities;
- Identifying future needs and opportunities for mathematical sciences in industry and promote stronger links between mathematics and industry for a mutually beneficial partnership between industry and mathematical scientists.
Research Areas
The SIMC 2021 looks for significant contributions to Mathematics and its applications in theoretical and practical aspects particularly in relation to Big Data.
Authors may contribute to the conference by submitting articles that illustrate research results, projects, surveying works and industrial experiences that describe significant advances in the following areas, but are not limited to:
Algebra and Applications, Computational Algebra, Analysis, Combinatorics, Geometry and Topology, Number Theory, Differential Equations, Approximation Theory, Coding Theory, Image Processing, Control Theory, Cryptology, Difference and Functional Equations, Discrete Mathematics, Dynamical Systems and Egordic Theory, Fluid Mechanics, Fuzzy Mathematics, Game Theory, Graph Theory, Integral Equations, Mathematical Biology and Mathematical Ecology, Bioinformatics, Mathematical Modelling in Environmental Sciences, Theoretical Computer Science, Data Mining and Soft Computing, Mathematical Economics and Financial Mathematics, Financial Econometrics, Stochastic Modeling, Stochastic Calculus and Applications, Theory and Application of Statistical Linear Models; Bayesian Models and Data Analysis; Biometric Models and Data Analysis, Modeling Climatic Changes; Spatial Analysis; Exploratory Methods and Functional Data Analysis.
