Student Symposium on Emerging Topics in Informatics
SEMINARS invites students to submit position papers addressing emerging topics, technologies, challenges, and debates in Informatics Engineering.
Submissions should investigate a relevant and focused scientific or technological issue, critically engage with the existing scientific literature, and develop a clear and defensible position supported by evidence. Papers are expected to go beyond the description or summarisation of existing work by identifying tensions, limitations, competing perspectives, open challenges, or implications and using these to construct a coherent scientific argument.
Submission Guidelines
All submissions and reviews are managed through EasyChair (SEMINARS2627).
Submissions follow a two-stage process:
Stage 1 — Structured Abstract
Teams first submit an anonymised Structured Abstract presenting the motivation, problem/guiding question, proposed position, evidence base, main arguments, and expected contribution.
Stage 2 — Full Paper
Following the first peer-review round, teams develop their proposal into a Full Position Paper using the IEEE conference format.
Both stages follow a double-blind peer-review process. Authors must therefore omit names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information from PDFs submitted for review.
Following the second review round, papers will be revised and prepared for the SEMINARS Student Symposium, where accepted work will be presented and discussed.
