The SEAC conference series are the flagship events of the European Society for Astronomy in Culture. The society was founded in 1993 with a focus on astronomy in culture as an interdisciplinary science between sciences and humanities. Over the years, its members have researched extensively in fields like archeoastronomy, ethnoastronomy, history of astronomy, and the impact of astronomy on society.
The theme of the 2022 SEAC conference is Signs and Symbols: Above and Below but we accept papers dealing with all major areas of astronomy in culture.
In 2022 SEAC will be held in Timisoara, Romania, which is the informal capital of the Banat region, and 2023 European Capital of Culture. It is organized by the Romanian Society for Astronomy in Culture (SRPAC) and the West University of Timisoara.
The main conference website can be accessed here.
