In the current era of copious technological changes, world is facing challenges to get upgraded to the latest advancements. In the past two decade the demand of network has increased day by day. Nowadays internet users all over the world are approximately 4326 million users. So, there is need to make network more scalable, reliable, efficient and secure. To keep a pace with the upcoming demand of technology, there is a shift from hardware operated network to software defined network. Software defined Network (SDN) technology emerged as a network architecture approach to manage intelligently, centrally or programmed using software. In SDN, customers can see their devices and flow of data so that they can differentiate between data and network management function. Due to this the technology has the capability of simplifying the complicated networking ecosystems. SDN has a major impact on the management of IT infrastructure and network design. SDN technology not only changes network infrastructure design, it also can change how IT views its role. While SDN deployments are found in every industry, the impact of the technology is strongest in technology-related fields and financial services. SDN is having an impact on the way telecommunications companies operate. Success in the financial services sector hinges on connecting to large numbers of trading participants, low latency and a highly secure network infrastructure to power financial markets worldwide.
SDN in collaboration with IOT, Big data, Cloud services and integration can resolve many network performance related issues like scalability, complexity, policy control. SDN can also address security considerations and helps to make organizations agile. The book will focus on solutions in different areas in market trends, networks, communications, IT industry, big data applications and finance sector.
In all it can be said that software defined network first understands what the network administrator wants from the network to do and then ensures that network management platform automates the desired working. After implementations the network administrators also ensures that the required network also enforces the policies defined by that organization to which that network belongs.
