Regional Helix’ 21: International Conference on Territorial Dimensions of Green and Digital Transitions University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro Lamego, Portugal, October 28-30, 2021

The importance of leveraging the power of territories to boost innovation and entrepreneurship is being amplified by green and digital transitions and by several 21st century challenges such as climate change, global financial crises, inequality, migrations, food and energy systems transition, and a pandemic not been experienced for over 100 years. This is the framework for organizing the 6th edition of the REGIONAL HELIX ® Conference Series.

Call for papers - You are invited to submit a six-page length extended abstract, written in English, until July 10, 2021 in EasyChair. Please check this page for instructions on submission and to get a template to develop your abstract. The scientific program will be organized around six major topics:

A – Entrepreneurship and helix ecosystems

B – Digital transitions

C – Green transitions

D – Transformative planning and place-based development processes

E – Management and governance of heritage and tourism

F – Organizations

Keynote speaker - We have the honor to welcome Joaquim Oliveira Martins, currently Counsellor at the Centre d’Etudes Prospectives et d’Informations Internationales (CEPII, Paris) and former Deputy-Director at the OECD Centre for Entrepreneurship, SMEs, Regions and Cities.

Venue - The conference will be held during 28-30 October 2021 at Lamego, a charming small town in the very heart of Douro World Heritage Wine Region, Portugal. The social program includes a trip in Douro Valley on October 30.

Publications - Accepted abstracts from the presented papers will be published in an electronic Book of Proceedings. Authors of good-quality extended abstracts will be invited to submit a full paper version to selected special issues of reputable journals.
