Symposium Venue:
The symposium will be held at the Bowie State University, Maryland’s oldest HBCU, and one of the 10th oldest in the United States.
Symposium Objectives:
The 2024 Pan African Symposium on the Pan African City seeks to exchange knowledge, create, and nurture partnerships for change, engage multiple disciplines in the housing and human settlement sectors, and explore opportunities for long-term future engagement throughout the African Diaspora.
Symposium Theme:
The theme of the Symposium will be Sustainability, Resilience, Recovery, Inclusivity, Equity, and Planning. The Symposium will be open to anyone, including housing and human settlement professionals, educators, government and elected officials, NGOs, real estate development professionals, students, investors/financiers, innovators and anyone interested in housing.
We invite you to submit responsive papers, presentations, and posters that address the Symposium’s theme of Sustainability, Resilience, Recovery, Inclusion, Planning and Equity as they relate to the Pan African City. We are excited to invite you to contribute your expertise and insights to the Pan African City Symposium an upcoming event that promises to be a hallmark of collaboration and knowledge exchange in housing human settlements, and sustainable community development. Your expertise and contributions are vital to the success of this symposium/conference, and we hope you will consider submitting a paper, presentation, or poster that will demonstrate the best in sustainability, resilience, recovery, equity, and inclusion.

Publication Opportunities:
Accepted academic papers will be published Online Open Access on International Journal of Environmental Management and Safety, Nigeria or Town and Regional Planning Journal, University of Free State. The Work will be sent to multiple indexing services, including Elsevier (Scopus, Compendex and EI) and Clarivate Analytics, Formerly the IP & Science business of Thomson Reuters (Web of Science). Both Elsevier and Clarivate Analytics have a review process prior to acceptance.
Submission Guidelines:
Research Papers and Presentations:
- Length: Not more than 3200 words (10 pages).
- Font: Use a legible font such as Times New Roman or Arial.
- Font Size: 12 points.
- Spacing: Single spacing.
- Abstract: Include an abstract of up to 200 words with up to 5 keywords.
- Peer Review: All submitted papers will undergo a double-blind peer-review process.
- Revision: Final acceptance is contingent upon revising the manuscript in line with reviewer's comments.
- Approval: Publication in the proceedings and presentation at the Symposium is subject to registration and submission of copyright forms.
Abstracts:
- Length: Approximately 200 words.

Posters:
- Submit Postgraduate Posters by April 3, 2024.
